Incorporating Books Into Your Big Day

Whether you are looking to spice up your centerpieces or looking for an interesting cake stand, books could be just the addition the day needs.  Think of all the books from your mother or grandmothers childhood, Caddie Woodlawn, The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, Romeo and Juliet.  All the books were gorgeous, hardback, and now probably have an amazing tethered affect.  Those books could be the ticket for unique centerpieces and can be a cheaper extra element toward amazement.  Think of all your books at your own home or think used books stores, easy yet fabulous!

Oh Martha! Outside of the Box Centerpieces

Weddings are your time to be creative and think outside of the box.  Centerpieces do not always have to consist of flowers in vase to make the event beautiful and romantic.  Sometimes those creative ideas are the most unique and can be a do-it-yourself project.  We love the DIY projects, because it allows for all of your creativity to flow and come up with the most magnificent, gorgeous ideas.  We often need some inspiration and Martha Stewart always has a plethora of those outside of the box ideas and items you can even take from your own home.  Fruits, vegetables, wine bottles, candles, tea cans and the list goes on!

Using fruit and veggies that are in season can add that pop of color.  With fall in the midst, think of all the luscious tomatoes, pumpkins, and even artichokes.  It is easy to use any vegetable or fruit with the right pot or vase to carry out your theme and colors.

We love the idea of using the squash and artichokes.  Extremely unique vegetables that are surprisingly elegant and festive.

The stars and matching candles add for a whimsical feel and give the room just the right amount of sparkle!

Martha's idea here of using paper bags was extremely unexpected, but looks unbelievably good on the tables with using the greens, blues, and whites in woodsy tones.

Think you could plant all your flowers ahead of time.

Non-Floral Centerpieces: Apothecary Jars

We love the whimsy and old-fashioned look of apothecary jars. A very Anthropology-esque design that allows the designer and bride to open the creative flood gates and really create one-of-a-kind pieces. These particular photos are from a wedding we did at the Sanctuary Golf Course with Katie Van Buren as the photographer. This bride wanted a very organic feel and each individual jar’s design was significant to the couple.
